💤You’re Not Behind. You’re Tired.

Your pace make sense. Even if no one ever taught you how to honor it.

Here’s what we mean: If you’ve been questioning your progress lately. wondering why things feel heavier or slower than they “should” then hear us out: there’s nothing wrong with you for needing more time, rest, or support.
A lot of people think they’re behind when they’re actually just tired. Tired from carrying responsibility for a long time. From being the one who figures things out. From holding things together when it wasn’t easy.
Most of us are measuring ourselves against timelines we didn’t choose. Timelines that ignore burnout, survival seasons, and how much energy it took just to get here.
So, when that thought pops up (“I should be further by now”) it’s not a motivation problem. It’s a system that’s tired of being judged without context.
You're not behind. You're worn down.

Dollars and Sense

A few weeks ago, I was reviewing numbers with someone who had done a lot “right.” Bills paid. No major disasters. Slow, steady movement.

Still, she stared at the screen and said softly,
I don’t know why I feel disappointed.

The room was quiet. Late afternoon light. Her coffee had gone cold.

As we talked, it became clear she wasn’t disappointed in her finances. She was grieving the years she spent in survival mode. The plans that had to wait. The version of herself that was always bracing.

“I forget,” she said, almost to herself, “how tired I was back then.”

That moment sticks with me, because I see it everywhere.
People measuring progress without counting the weight they were carrying at the start.

Sometimes stability is the win, even if it doesn’t look impressive on paper.

Instead of asking, “Am I where I should be?” try this question:

“What part of my financial life feels safer than it used to?”

Safety might look like fewer emergencies, more awareness, or less panic when you open your bank app. Those shifts matter, especially if you’ve spent years in financial survival mode.

Wealth and Wisdom Monday's You are allowed to rest. Even if the economy feels loud. Even if your to-do list is long. Even if your nervous system does not fully trust that it is safe to pause. Here’s what we mean: Today is Presidents Day. For some people that meant sleeping in. For others it meant catching up on laundry, finally answering emails, or squeezing in a few hours of side hustle money because inflation is real and security feels fragile. Wherever you fall, I want you to hear this....

Wealth and Wisdom Monday's If you quietly think, “I should be further by now,” you’re not alone. You’re not broken or behind. You’re responding to a world that changed faster than anyone prepared you for. Here’s what we mean: Many of us built our expectations in a completely different economy...one that no longer exists. A different housing market. A different cost of living. Different rules around student loans, healthcare, childcare, and retirement. A different promise of stability if you...

Wealth and Wisdom Monday's If credit cards have helped you get through the last few years, that doesn’t mean you’re irresponsible. It means you adapted when things got expensive and support was thin. Here’s what we mean: A lot of people are carrying quiet shame about their credit cards right now. Not because they went on shopping sprees, but because groceries, childcare, car repairs, and life kept showing up. When money is scarce, credit often becomes a bridge. The problem isn’t that you used...
